Join Bike/Walk Summerville for our 4th Annual Ride of Silence — a slow, silent 4-mile ride through the Historic District of the Town of Summerville to honor those who have been killed or injured while walking or biking in our community.
The Ride of Silence is a national event that aims to raise awareness among motorists, cyclists, and the public about the legal rights of cyclists and pedestrians and the importance of sharing the road safely.
This group ride is free, all-ages, and police-escorted, with a pace of about 7-10mph. We ride to raise awareness, push for safer streets, and stand in solidarity with communities across the globe who are part of the international Ride of Silence.
With your attendance, you are showing the Town of Summerville and Dorchester County that bicyclists and pedestrians are present and that there is a demand and a need for this infrastructure in the area!
